Friends of Oatland Island has been busy this last year! Not only did Oatland celebrate the Big 50 this year, but we have also been working hard to make Oatland Island Wildlife Center Better for our guests every day! Here are some of the improvements and updates we made in 2024 to make 2025 the best year ever to visit Oatland Island Wildlife Center!
Train Play Structure - built with kids in mind, this beautiful climbable train structure is a nod to Oatland’s Past as a railroad conductor retirement home.
Story Book Trail - in collaboration with the amazing author of Mama Opossum’s Misadventures by Gina Gallois, our trail just got a whole lot cuter. Read the whole story along our trail and then take it home with you by purchasing the book for sale in our gift shop!
Activity Trail - With new play structures and challenges for the brave kiddo in your family, the Kids Trail offers new equipment to climb, hop, and balance on as you make your way through Oatland.
Online Giftshop - With the demand for all of the fun things in our giftshop growing, we started our online giftshop with items you love like stickers, stuffies, hats, and more! Visit today at: https://www.friendsofoatland.org/shop
Cougar Crates were also purchased for the safe handling and shipping of our Cougars In case of emergencies like hurricanes or storms. We haven't had to use them yet, but having them is peace of mind during times of inclement weather! Safety and animal welfare are a top priority for us.
